Summer Vibes & Saving Lives

Help save the lives of local patients by donating blood this summer!

June 1 through June 30, Arkansas Blood Institute donors will receive a trendy “Summer Vibes” t-shirt and a voucher for one free entry to Magic Springs Theme and Water Park.*

Please note: You will not be able to redeem your voucher on the same day as your donation. Please allow up to 48 hours for your donation to be entered into our system. You must set up your donor profile at yourbloodinstitute.org with a valid email to receive your voucher.  Pass not valid on Saturday in June & July but is valid on Saturday in Aug., Sept. & Oct.

“Summer is a particularly challenging time for the blood supply,” said Paulette Nieuwenhof, executive director of Arkansas Blood Institute. “People go out of town, and are busy with activities, and get out of their normal routine of giving blood. We encourage healthy adults to spare just an hour of their time to save the lives of their neighbors. We are very fortunate to have community partners like Magic Springs who step up to provide an additional incentive for our donor to donate. And it just feels good to give back to those who volunteer their time to save local lives.”

Only ten percent of people in the United States who are eligible to give blood actually do.  Blood donation takes just about an hour, and each donation can save the lives of up to three patients.

“Magic Springs is proud to support our community in this way,” said Jack Bateman, general manager at the park. “This is our way to thank each person who participates and give them tons of family-friendly fun close to home!”

Donors also receive free health screenings and Donor Rewards points, redeemable at Arkansas Blood Institute’s online store.  If donors opt not to take the t-shirt, Arkansas Blood Institute will make a monetary donation to Global Blood Fund for blood center assistance in developing countries.

As part of the nation’s 6th largest non-profit blood collector, Arkansas Blood Institute’s donors provide every drop of blood needed for patients in more than 40 hospitals statewide.

It takes nearly 1,200 donors a day to meet those needs. Appointments to give blood are not required but can be made by clicking here to search for blood drives in your area or calling (877) 340-8777.

Or you can stop by one of our donor centers in:
